The Chicago Bears are signing TE Jesse James to a one-year deal on Sunday, according to Mike Garafolo.
James, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2015. He played out his rookie contract in Pittsburgh.
The Lions signed James to a four-year contract as a free agent in 2019. However, Detroit later terminated James’s deal this past offseason, taking on $4.287 million in dead money.
In 2020, James caught 14 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2021 Free Agents list.
