Update:

The New York Giants announced Friday that they have claimed OT Rogers Gaines off of waivers from the Bears.

Interestingly enough, the Giants released veteran QB Josh Freeman in subsequent move.

The Chicago Bears announced that they have waived OT Rogers Gaines on Thursday.

Gaines, 24, signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State back in May of last year. Chicago signed him to their practice squad a few months later.

It appeared as though he could be in a position to compete for a roster spot in training camp, but the Bears must feel better about some of their other tackle options like Eben Britton, Cody Booth, Joe Long and Michael Ola.
