Bengals In Negotiations With DE Carlos Dunlap Regarding Extension

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for DE Carlos Dunlap, was at Bengals’ practice on Saturday and seen chatting with owner Mike Brown, per Paul Dehner Jr.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Bengals and Dunlap’s reps have been in negotiations regarding a new contract extension.

A report from back in February mentioned that the Bengals were focused on signing Dunlap and DT Geno Atkins to new deals.

Last month, Dunlap told reporters that there has been progress made on a contract extension after he skipped voluntary OTAs and forfeited $300,000 in workout bonuses.

Dunlap, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2010. He’s currently in the final year of his five-year, $39.37 million contract that included $11.7 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $7 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Dunlap appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and recorded 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and seven pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 23 edge rusher out of 106 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 25 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
