Bengals Place Bernard Scott On Injured Reserve

The Cincinnati Bengals placed running back Bernard Scott on season-ending Injured Reserve following a knee injury he suffered in Sunday’s 17-13 loss to the Dolphins, per the Bengals Twitter account.

It’s believed that Scott, who is a free agent after this season, tore his left ACL. He was scheduled to undergo tests on his knee today, but the fact that the Bengals placed him on IR before announcing the results says it all.

Scott could never get healthy this season as he missed Week’s 1 and 2 with a hand injury. He then injured his ankle in his season debut in Week 3. In two games this season, Scott had only eight carries for 35 yards. Either Cedric Peerman or Brian Leonard will likely take Scott’s place as BenJarvus Green-Ellis‘ backup.
