Bengals Placing CB Dre Kirkpatrick On IR, Promoting LB Hardy Nickerson & WR Damion Willis

Bengals HC Zac Taylor announced Friday that theyโ€™re placing CB Dre Kirkpatrick on injured reserve, per Ben Baby

The Bengals are also promoting LB Hardy Nickerson and WR Damion Willis to their active roster.

Kirkpatrick, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.622 million rookie contract before agreeing to a five-year, $52.5 million deal with $12 million guaranteed back in 2017.

Kirkpatrick stands to make a base salary of $9.4 million for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Kirkpatrick appeared in six games and recorded 33 tackles, one sack, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.

Nickerson, 25, wound up signing on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in 2017. He was waived a few weeks into his rookie season and later signed to the Bengalsโ€™ practice squad.

Since then, Nickerson has been on and off of the Bengalsโ€™ active roster.

In 2018, Nickerson appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and recorded 56 tackles, no sacks or interceptions, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
