Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bengals are re-signing CB Dre Kirkpatrick.
- According to Jim Owczarski (via Paul Dehner Jr), Kirkpatrick receives a five-year contract worth close to $52.5 million.
Kirkpatrick, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.622 million rookie contract, but Cincinnati picked up his fifth-year option that paid him $7.507 million for the 2016 season.
Kirkpatrick is now in a position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.
In 2016, Kirkpatrick appeared in 15 games for the Bengals and recorded 46 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.
