Jeff Darlington reports that the Bengals are signing veteran OTÂ Andre Smith to a contract.
- Mike Garafolo reports that Smith receives a one-year contract from the Bengals.
Smith recently visited with the Bills, but left Buffalo without an agreement in place. A Bills’ source tells Darlington that Buffalo made a “hard run” at signing Smith, but he wanted to return to his former team.
Smith, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. After seven years in Cincinnati, Smith signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Vikings back in March of last year, which included $1 million guaranteed and another $1 million available through incentives.
Unfortunately, Smith’s season ended with him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
In 2016, Smith appeared in four games for the Vikings.
