Bengals Want To Re-Sign TE Tyler Eifert & OT Andre Smith

Bengals owner Mike Brown said during a recent interview that they would like to re-sign free agent TE Tyler Eifert in the coming months.

We want to talk to him and see if we can make a deal that will bring him back,” Brown said regarding Eifert, via the Bengals’ official site“He’s a very good player. The problem is he’s been injured so much he’s literally played less than half the time. Whatever deal we offer we have to take that into consideration.  But we know he’s a player that makes us better when he’s on the field. We plan to talk to most of our (free agents).”

Brown added that they’d also like to re-sign free agent OT Andre Smith this offseason.

Eifert, 27, is a first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.256 million contract and finished the 2017 season under the fifth-year option.

Eifert made $4.782 million in 2017 in is set to become an unrestricted free agent. He could be among the best available players this offseason.

In 2017, Eifert appeared in two games before landing on the injured reserve and caught four passes for 46 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Bengals.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
