Bengals Worked Out WRs Santonio Holmes, David Nelson, & Greg Little

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Bengals worked out free agent receivers including David Nelson, Greg Little, and Santonio Holmes on Thursday.

Cincinnati is clearly in the market for a receiver after they wound up placing 2014 seventh-round pick WR James Wright on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday.

It’s interesting that the Bengals have passed on bringing in more notable free agents like Reggie Wayne, James Jones and Wes Welker.

Holmes, 31, signed a one-year, $855,000 contract with Bears a few weeks before the start of the 2014 season. However, he was released just three months into the season.

Holmes later worked out for the Chiefs towards the end of last year, but hadn’t found any reported interest since then.

In 2014, Holmes has appeared in nine games and caught eight passes for 67 yards while also contributing as a punt returner.

Little, 26, is a former second round pick of the Browns back in 2011. He spent three season in Cleveland before he was cut and later claimed off of waivers by the Raiders. The Bengals would later take a shot on him in October of last year. However, he was cut loose by Cincinnati before the start of free agency.

In 2014, Little appeared in six games and recorded six receptions for 69 yards receiving.
