Bills Tried Out 13 Players

According to Howard Balzer, the Bills brought in 13 free agents for workouts on Tuesday, including S Josh Jones, DE Noah Spence, and WR Laquon Treadwell

Jones, 24, was a second-round pick by the Packers out of North Carolina State in 2017. He was entering the third year of a four-year, $4.2 million deal when Green Bay cut him loose last week. 

Jones had previously requested to be traded before being waived with a non-football illness designation. 

In 2018, Jones appeared in 13 games for the Packers, recording 55 total tackles, one sack, no interceptions and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 70 safety out of 93 qualifying players. 

Spence, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $6.03 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.27 million for the 2019 season when the Buccaneers waived him coming out of the preseason.

In 2018, Spence appeared in 12 games for the Buccaneers and recorded three tackles and no sacks.

Treadwell, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2016. He’s in the final year of his four-year, $9,934,980 contract that included a signing bonus of $5,425,440.

The Vikings declined Treadwell’s fifth-year option back in April and later waived him after they were unable to find a trade partner. 

In 2018, Treadwell appeared in 15 games for the Vikings, catching 35 passes for 302 yards (8.6 YPC) and one touchdown.
