The Buffalo Bills announced Monday that they have placed WR Mike Williams on the waive/injured list and signed WR Deonte Thompson off of the Ravens’ practice squad.
Williams has been dealing with a calf injury in recent weeks, but hasn’t lived up to the team’s expectations after they sent a sixth-round pick to the Buccaneers in return for Williams back in April.
Williams, 27, was in the second year of his six-year, $40.25 million contract that includes $9.4 million guaranteed. His base salary for the 2014 season is $1.2 million.
This season Williams has appeared in nine games and caught eight passes for 142 yards receiving and a touchdown.
