Chiefs Will Start Matt Cassel In Week 9

Chiefs HC Romeo Crennel has announced that Matt Cassel will start Week 9’s game against the Chargers, per Adam Teicher.

Brady Quinn has officially been ruled out after he suffered a concussion last weekend.

Chiefs HC Romeo Crennel told reporters that Brady Quinn will be the team’s starting quarterback as long as he’s healthy, via the Kansas City Star.

Matt Cassel looks like the better of the two, but that is still not saying a whole lot.

Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn was not at the team’s practice facility Monday, per Dave Skretta of the Associated Press.

It appears that Quinn suffered a concussion during Sunday’s loss to the Raiders. If that’s the case, then don’t expect Quinn to play this week since the Chiefs take on Chargers Thursday night. It would seem almost impossible for Quinn to pass all the concussion tests and be cleared to play. Expect Matt Cassel to be under center for Chiefs on Thursday night.
