This is terrible news for Hooker and the Colts, as he has been a great addition to the team’s secondary and shown a knack for producing turnovers just as he did in college.
You can expect the Colts to place Hooker on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.
Hooker, 21, was selected with the No. 15 overall pick in this year’s draft by the Colts. He signed a four-year, $12.6 million contract that’s fully guaranteed and he stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $1.03 million over the first two years of the agreement.
Entering today’s game, Hooker had appeared in six games and recorded 20 tackles, three interceptions and four pass defenses for the Colts. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 31 safety out of 81 qualifying players.
