Dolphins Fire HC Adam Gase

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Miami Dolphins have fired HC Adam Gase on Monday.

Recent reports said that Gase was in danger of his losing his job along with executive VP Mike Tannenbaum.

Albert Breer mentions that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was increasingly dissatisfied with the climate in his organization, which in part led to Gase being fired.

Ross is said to have interest in Ravens HC John Harbaugh, but that would require a trade, given that he’s under contract through the 2019 season.

Gase, 40, began his NFL coaching career with the Lions back in 2003 as a scouting assistant. He spent five years in Detroit before taking a job with the 49ers for the 2008 season.

The Broncos would later hire Gase as their WRs coach and he worked his way up to offensive coordinator before they replaced their coaching staff in 2015. Gase spent a year with the Bears before the Dolphins hired him as their head coach in 2016.

During his three years as the Dolphins’ head coach, Gase has led Miami to a record of 23-25 (47.9 percent), which includes one playoff appearance.
