Raiders Sign CB Sean Smith To A Four-Year, $40M Deal

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Raiders and CB Sean Smith have agreed to terms on a contract.

Last night, a report said that the Chiefs were making a “strong push” to re-sign free agent CB Sean Smith. However, it looks like the Raiders wound up getting the deal done for one of their top targets.

Smith also had interest from the 49ers.

Smith, 28, signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract that included $7.465 million guaranteed with the Chiefs back in 2013. He was one of the best available cornerbacks in this year’s market and should come away with a sizable contract.

In 2015, Smith recorded 35 tackles, two interceptions, and 12 pass defenses for the Chiefs over the course of 13 games.
