Mike Klis of 9 News is reporting that the Titans are trading DL Jurrell Casey to the Broncos for a “Day 3 draft pick.”
According to Ian Rapoport, the Titans will receive a seventh-round pick for Casey.
Casey, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Titans back in 2011. He still had two years remaining on his five-year, $37.431 million contract when he agreed to a four-year, $60.4 million extension that included $40 million guaranteed back in 2017.
Casey stands to make a base salary of $11.25 million for the 2020 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, trading Casey will free up $10,187,500 of available cap space while creating $3.2 million in dead money.
In 2019, Casey appeared in 14 games for the Titans and recorded 44 tackles, five sacks, a forced fumble, and two recoveries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 interior defensive lineman out of 114 qualifying players.
