Brian Urlacher Expects To Finish His Career In Chicago

Bears MLB Brian Urlacher says that there’s “no doubt in [his] mind” that he will return as a Chicago Bear.

I can’t imagine playing anywhere else,’’ said Urlacher, via the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Bears veteran linebacker will be entering the final year of his contract, but will make a healthy $7.5 million for the 2012 season. Urlacher, 34, mentioned that he’s not planning to retire any time soon, so the Bears will have to address his contract at some point in the future. The Bears have been reluctant to commit to aging veteran’s in recent years, but Urlacher has been the symbol of this team for years now, so I’d be surprised to see them take the same approach.

Last year he was rated as the #12 best inside linebacker by Pro Football Focus. What’s amazing about Urlacher is that he’s unbelievable in coverage despite his age, which likely points to his overall football intelligence.
