Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times Bears tweets that Bears MLB Brian Urlacher expects to play this weekends game from start to finish, despite the fact he is recovering a knee injury.
“I plan on playing the whole game,” said Urlacher. “Like every other game.”
Urlacher wound up suffering another injury to his surgically-repaired knee during training camp, which wound up forcing him to undergo a knee scope. The injury apparently was cartilage-related.
There’s no question that Urlacher will be tested this season. At 34, it’s hard to image that he will be able to return to his previous form following a fairly serious knee injury, but if anyone is capable of doing so, it’s probably him.
