Broncos Interviewing Steelers OL Coach Mike Munchak Friday

Paul Kuharsky reports that the Broncos are interviewing Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak on Friday for their head-coaching job.

The list of reported interviews for the Broncos includes:

  1. Patriots DC Brian Flores (Requested)
  2. Steelers OL Coach Mike Munchak (Scheduled)
  3. Bears DC Vic Fangio (Requested)
  4. Rams QBs coach Zac Taylor (Scheduled)
  5. Former Colts HC Chuck Pagano (Scheduled)

Munchak has also drawn interest from the Packers, Dolphins and Browns, so he’s a fairly popular coaching candidate.

Last year, the Cardinals were reportedly interested in hiring Munchak, but he later removed his name from their coaching search.

Munchak, 58, played 12 years in the NFL for the Houston Oilers. He was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, four-time first-team All Pro, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2011.

Munchak began his NFL coaching career in 1994 with the Oilers as their offensive assistant/quality control coach and eventually worked his way up to being the Titans head coach in 2011. After Tennessee fired following his third season, Munchak agreed to become the Steelers’ offensive line coach in 2014.
