Broncos LB Bradley Chubb Out For The Year With Torn ACL

According to Adam Schefter, Broncos LB Bradley Chubb has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2019 season.

Schefter added Chubb returned to the game following his injury but will have surgery and turn his focus toward getting ready for next season.

It’s a huge loss for the Broncos, who are at 0-4 following a loss Sunday to the Jaguars. Chubb had 12 sacks as a rookie last year and was expected to play an integral role for the Denver defense in his second season.

Chubb, 23, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick in 2018 out of North Carolina State by the Broncos. Chubb signed a four-year, $27,380,796 contract that includes a $17,993,304 signing bonus.

The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Broncos to pick up in 2021.

In 2019, Chubb has appeared in four games and recorded 21 total tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one pass defense. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 69 edge defender out of 102 qualifying players through four games.
