According to Troy Renck, the Broncos are looking for a second-round pick to trade CB Chris Harris.
Dianna Russini reports the Eagles reached out to Denver regarding Harris, but the price was too high at this time. Josina Anderson adds at least six teams have inquired with Denver regarding Harris.
However, Renck adds Denver isn’t finding any takers for Harris at that price so far. Harris is entering the final year of his contract and plans to test free agency before agreeing to any new offers.
The Broncos are reportedly open to dealing Harris given the way their season has gone, with the Eagles and the Chiefs Harris’ top two suitors.
Harris, 30, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.
Harris was entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season when Denver signed him to a new, one-year, $12.05 million deal this offseason.
In 2019, Harris has appeared in seven games for the Broncos and recorded 19 total tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and three pass defense.
We’ll have more on Harris as the news is available.
