Mike Klis of 9 News reports that the Broncos have been informed their game against New England will be moved from Sunday to Monday night.
According to Klis, NFL chief medical officer Allen Sills made the call to move the game back to Monday.
Albert Breer confirms the news and adds that the game will be scheduled for 4:25 pm EST.
This comes after the Patriots recent positive tests for COVID-19, which includes QB Cam Newton and CB Stephon Gilmore. Jim McBride mentions that New England will likely keep Gillette Stadium shut down on Friday and re-open Saturday pending another round of negative COVID-19 tests.
The NFL had to postpone the Chiefs vs. Patriots game last week after Newton’s positive test late last week.
There have been no new positives for the Patriots since Gilmore’s recent test, but it’s certainly a situation worth monitoring in the coming days.
It’s worth mentioning that the Patriots a bye coming up in Week 6, so it won’t have a big impact on them from a scheduling situation.
However, the Broncos will be on a short week for their Week 6 matchup with the Dolphins.
Weโll have more regarding the Broncos-Patriots game as the news is available.
