Broncos S Kareem Jackson Suspended For Final Two Games

Mike Klis of 9 News reports that Broncos S Kareem Jackson has been suspended for the final two games of the season for a violation of its Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse. 

Here’s the statement from the Broncos: 

Kareem Jackson was arrested for driving under the influence on Thursday, Sept. 19. He immediately informed our team of the incident, which we promptly reported to the NFL and thoroughly reviewed as an organization.

“There are high standards for the personal conduct of all members of our organization, and we have expressed our extreme disappointment to Kareem for his poor judgment. Under the NFL Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse, he has been suspended for the Broncos’ final two games of the 2019 season.”

Jackson posted the following on Twitter regarding the news:

Jackson, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Texans back in 2010. He played out the final year of his four-year, $34 million contract before agreeing to a three-year, $33 million contract with the Broncos this past March. 

In 2019, Jackson appeared in 13 games for the Broncos and recorded 71 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 10 pass defenses.
