The Denver Broncos announced that they’ve signed 11 players to future/reserve contracts on Monday including:
- RB Bernard Pierce
- RB Zac Brooks
- C Dillon Day
- DE Iosia Iosia
- OT Justin Murray
- LS Jeff Overbaugh
- DL Travis Raciti
- TE Steven Scheu
- WR Hunter Sharp
- LB Kevin Synder
- TE Austin Traylor
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Pierce, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He spent three years in Baltimore before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.
The Jets just signed Pierce to a contract back in August but he was later placed on injured reserve. Pierce was eventually cut loose with an injury settlement.
Pierce’s 2015 season was cut short after he was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a calf injury.ย Last year, Pierce ran for 11ย yards on sixย carries (1.8 YPC) to go along with threeย receptions for sevenย yards receiving and noย touchdowns.
