The Denver Broncos have placed TE Orson Charles on waivers Friday and promoted OLB Ahmad Gooden to their active roster, according to Ryan O’Halloran.
Charles, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He lasted just over two years in Cincinnati before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.
Since then, Charles has played for a number of teams including the Titans, Lions, Saints and Chiefs. Kansas City elected to cut Charles loose and he later signed on with the Browns in July of last year.
Charles returned to the Browns this past April only to be released during the preseason. He caught on with the Broncos and has been on and off of their roster this season.
In 2018, Charles appeared in 13 games for the Browns and caught three passes for 23 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
