Stefanski added that Tretter’s absence creates a “great opportunity” for rookie C Nick Harris

“It’s a great opportunity for Nick Harris to get a ton of reps,” Stefanski said. per Petrak.

Ian Rapoport reports that Tretter specifically underwent a scope aimed at cleaning out loose bodies and easing discomfort. According to Rapoport, Tretter should be sidelined for just a couple of weeks and this shouldn’t impact his availability for the season.

Tretter, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his rookie contract before agreeing to a three-year, $16.75 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed with the Browns in 2017.

Tretter later signed a three-year, $32.5 million extension that included more than $23 million guaranteed with the Browns last year.

In 2019, Tretter appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and started every game at center. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 10 center out of 34 qualifying players.
