The Cleveland Browns announced that they’re interviewing 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for their head-coaching job Saturday.
The full list of requested interviews for the Browns includes:

- 49ers DC Robert Saleh (NFLTR)
- Mike McCarthy (NFLTR)
- Vikings OC Kevin Stefanski (NFLTR)
- Bills OC Brian Daboll (NFLTR)
- Baylor HC Matt Rhule – Declined (NFLTR)
- 49ers passing-game coordinator Mike LaFleur (NFLTR)
- Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (NFLTR)
Saleh, 40, began his NFL coaching career with the Texans in 2005 as a defensive intern. He eventually worked his way up to assistant linebackers coach before he took over as the Seahawks defensive quality control coach in 2011.
The Jaguars later hired Saleh as their linebackers coach where he remained for three seasons. The 49ers hired him as their defensive coordinator in 2017.
In 2019, the 49ers’ defense ranked No. 2 best in yards allowed, No. 8 in points allowed, No. 17 in rushing yards, and No. 1 in passing yards allowed.
