Browns OL Greg Robinson Had 157 Lbs Of Marijuana At Time Of Arrest, Facing Up To 20 Years In Prison

Update:

Robinson and Bray allegedly attempted to get a third person in the car to take the fall for the weed.

If convicted, Robinson and Bray are facing up to 20 years in prison.

Robinson and Bray were reportedly trying to get from Los Angeles to Louisiana and hit the checkpoint on the way.

TMZ Sports is reporting that Browns free agent OL Greg Robinson is in custody after he was found with “a lot” of marijuana at a Sierra Blanca border patrol checkpoint near the U.S., Mexico border.

Robinson was reportedly stopped on Monday and later taken into custody. He’s now facing a federal charge of possession with intent to distribute, according to TMZ.

Tom Pelissero says the Browns had no intention of re-signing Robinson before this incident.

Robinson, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2014. He spent three years with the Rams before they declined to pick up his fifth-year option and was later traded Robinson to the Lions.

Detroit cut Robinson loose in 2017 and he signed on with the Browns in June of last year. He returned to Cleveland on a one-year contract worth up to $9 million, but was released coming out of the preseason. Robinson returned to the Browns a few days later.

Robinson will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

In 2019, Robinson appeared in 15 games for the Browns and made 14 starts for them at left tackle.
