The Cleveland Browns announced that they have signed WR Rashard Higgins from their practice squad and waived DL Tyrone Holmes in a corresponding roster move.
Higgins, 22, is a former fifth-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.584 million contract when the Browns elected to cut him loose, but re-signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.
In 2016, Higgins appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and caught six passes for 77 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
Holmes, 23, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2016. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason last year and later claimed off of waivers by the Browns.
Cleveland cut Holmes loose last weekend as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.
In 2016, Holmes appeared in 11 games and recorded six tackles and a sack for the Browns.
