According to Jenna Laine, the Buccaneers are cutting former second-round CB M.J. Stewart.
Greg Auman adds that the Bucs are also waiving RB Aca’Cedric Ware.
Tampa Bay drafted Stewart in 2018 but he wasn’t able to find a role with the team in his first two seasons. He was likely on the roster bubble heading into 2020.
Stewart, 24, was drafted by the Buccaneers in the second round out of North Carolina in 2018. He was entering the third year of his four-year, $5.1 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $942,101 in 2020.
In 2019, Stewart appeared in 10 games for the Buccaneers and recorded 35 total tackles, no sacks, no interceptions and two pass defenses.
