Buccaneers Hosting Veteran RT Gosder Cherilus For A Visit

Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers are expected to host free agent RT Gosder Cherilus for a visit on Monday.

This comes just a day after Bucs starting RT Demar Dotson went down with what is believed to be a sprained knee.

Cherilus, 31, had a decent season for the Lions a few years back, which led to him cashing in as a free agent and signing a five-year, $34.5 million contract with the Colts.

However, Indianapolis cut him loose a few weeks ago after he never lived up to that deal and is coming off of an injury.

Since becoming available, Cherilus has worked out for the Bills and Lions, but there hasn’t been any indication that either team is prepared to sign him.

In 2014, Cherilus was limited to appearing 13 games for the Colts. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.

We have him rated as the No. 17 player in our Top 25 Available Free Agents list.
