Jason La Confora tweets that the Buccaneers are โ€œmaking a pushโ€ to re-sign versatile FB Erik Lorig. who will be an unrestricted free agent in the next few weeks.

  • La Canfora adds that retaining Lorig is a โ€œpriorityโ€ for the Buccaneers as he can also function as a tight end.
  • According to La Canfora, Lorig โ€œseveralโ€ teams could have interest in him on the open market.

Lorig, 27, played 391 snaps for the Buccaneers last season, which was good enough for fifth among all fullbacks, and a ranking of No. 19 overall, according to Pro Football Focus.

Itโ€™s also worth mentioning that Buccaneersโ€™ new offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford recruited Lorig while he was the head coach at the University of California.
