Buccaneers Place RB Charles Sims On Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that they have placed RB Charles Sims on injured reserve and promoted RB Russell Hansbrough from their practice squad.

By placing Sims on injured reserve, it will cost him the next weeks of the season before he can be activated and return to practice.

Sims, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2014. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $3.104 million contract and set to make a base salary of $650,000 this season.

In 2016, Sims has appeared in four games for the Buccaneers and ran for 116 yards on 41 carries (2.8 YPC) to go along with 14 receptions for 112 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
