The Buccaneers announced they placed rookie S D’cota Dixon on injured reserve and signed G Salesi Uhatafe to take his place on the 90-man roster.
Dixon was signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent this year out of Wisconsin. He tried out for the 49ers before getting an opportunity to work out for the Buccaneers during their rookie minicamp.
During his college career at Wisconsin, Dixon recorded 179 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five interceptions, 11 pass defenses, three forced fumbles and two recoveries over the course of 44 games.
Uhatafe, 24, was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Utah in 2018. He was released at the end of the preseason
Uhatafe has spent some time on the practice squads for both the Jaguars and Lions. He played this spring for the Salt Lake Stallions in the AAF and was briefly with the Redskins this year.
