Buccaneers Placing CB Vernon Hargreaves On Injured Reserve

Ian Rapoport reports that the Buccaneers are placing CB Vernon Hargreaves on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

The Buccaneers are also placing G J.R. Sweezy and LB Adarius Glanton on injured reserve, and it’s possible more names could be added to the list in the coming days.

Hargreaves, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $14.17 million contract that includes $14.17 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.73 million and $2.38 million over the next two years of the agreement.

The contract also includes a fifth-year option for the Buccaneers to pick up in 2019.

In 2017, Hargreaves appeared in nine games for the Buccaneers and recorded 42 tackles, no interceptions and five pass defenses.
