Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Buccaneers are releasing P Bryan Anger on Tuesday.
Anger, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012 and was notably selected before Seahawks QB Russell Wilson. He played out his rookie contract and later signed a five-year extension worth $17 million with the Buccaneers.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Anger will free up $3 million of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2018, Anger appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and totaled 2,567 punt yards on 57 attempts (45 YPA) to go along with 15 downed inside the 20-yard line.
