Buccaneers Refute Reports That They’re Shopping CB Aqib Talib

Buccaneers new head coach Greg Schiano refuted the previous report that they’re currently trying to trade CB Aqib Talib.

All I can tell you is we have zero interest in doing that,” Schiano said, per Rick Stroud, “There’s no truth to that. I want him to be a Buc.”

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora previously mentioned that he wasn’t buying the report either. Trading Talib at this point would be lowering low on a player that could end up being their best player at the position.

The Pewter Report reports that a league source has informed them that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently shopping CB Aqib Talib.

Buc’s GM Mark Dominik is supposedly looking to add some additional picks in the upcoming draft, and previous reports have mentioned that they could move down from #5 overall to do so. The only problem here is that Talib has a pending court case to deal with which would seemingly impact their asking price for him.

You would have to think that this is a clear indication that they’re leaning towards taking LSU Morris Claiborne, should he be available to them at #5 overall.
