Buccaneers Sign Second-Round OT Donovan Smith

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the signing of second-round OT Donovan Smith to a four-year contract on Monday, per Scott Smith.

This leaves third-round selection G Ali Marpet as the only player from the Buccaneers’ 2015 draft class who has yet to sign his rookie contract.

According to OverTheCap.com, Smith is projected to receive a four-year contract worth $6,120,558 and includes a $2,711,316 signing bonus.

The Buccaneers really needed to find a solid offensive tackle this offseason, as there was talk at one point leading up to the draft that Smith could come off the board as early as round one.

Smith started 31 games on Penn State’s line at left tackle and should get an opportunity to compete for the starting left tackle job this summer.
