Buccaneers Starting Jameis Winston At QB In Week 12

The Tampa Buccaneers have made the decision to start Jameis Winston at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the 49ers, according to Rick Stroud.

The Buccaneers benched Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sunday, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Reports have said that Tampa Bay was likely going to give Winston another shot before the end of the season to further evaluate him as possibly being their quarterback of the future.

Winston, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He’s set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season and will earn $20.922 million for the 2019 season under his fifth-year option.

In 2018, Winston has appeared in five games for the Buccaneers and thrown for 1,380 yards while completing 65.9 percent of his passes to go along with 8 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He has also rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.
