Cardinals Hiring Tom Clements As Passing Game Coordinator/QBs Coach

Bob McMamanam of the Arizona Republic reports that the Cardinals are hiring former Packers OC Tom Clements as their new passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Kliff Kingsbury.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentions that the Cardinals are not expected to have a true offensive coordinator, given that this will be Kingsbury’s offense.

Clements was one of several candidates to interview for the Cardinals’ coordinator job including Hue Jackson, John DeFilippo, Steve Sarkisian, Ben McAdoo and Jim Bob Cooter.

Clements, 65, began his coaching career at Notre Dame as their QBs coach back in 1992. He took his first NFL coaching job with the Saints as their QBs coach in 1997.

From there, Clements worked for the Chiefs, Steelers and Bills before the Packers hired him as their QBs coach in 2006. He worked his way up to offensive coordinator and assistant head coach before being replaced after the 2016 season.
