Cardinals Placing LT Jared Veldheer On I.R. Partially Torn Triceps

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians announced Monday that they are placing LT Jared Veldheer on injured reserve after she undergoes surgery for a partially torn triceps.

Veldheer previously missed 10 weeks after undergoing surgery for this same injury, so it appears as though he could be headed to injured reserve in the coming days.

Veldheer, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, Veldheer signed a five-year, $35 million contract that included $10.5 million guaranteed with the Cardinals in March of 2014.

He stands to make base salaries of $6.5 million in each of the next three years.

In 2016, Veldheer appeared in eight games for the Cardinals.
