The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DE Ufomba Kamalu to their practice squad and released DE Alec James from the unit.
The Cardinals’ practice squad now consists of:
- OL Will House
- QB Charles Kanoff
- DT Pasoni Tasini
- WR Jalen Tolliver
- TE Andrew Vollert
- S Demetrious Cox
- CB Chris Jones
- LB Nigel Harris
- RB Jalen Simmons
- DE Ufomba Kamalu
Kamalu, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was later signed to their practice squad before eventually being called up in November.
Kamalu re-signed with the Texans this past March, but was waived at the start of the regular season.
In 2017, Kamalu appeared in nine games for the Texans and recorded six tackles and two sacks.
During his college career at Miami, Kamalu recorded 94 tackles, 11.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and two pass defenses.
