Cardinals Sign First-Round LB Isaiah Simmons

The Arizona Cardinals have officially signed first-round LB Isaiah Simmons to his rookie contract, according to Ian Rapoport.

Simmons is the first member of the Cardinals’ 2020 rookie class to sign their deal.

Simmons, 21, is a two-year starter at Clemson and won the Butkus Award as college football’s best linebacker in 2019. The Cardinals used the No. 8 overall pick in this year’s draft on him. 

Simmons is projected to sign a four-year, $20,664,055 rookie contract that includes a $12,588,404 signing bonus. The contract includes a fifth-year for the Cardinals to pick up for the 2024 season. 

During his four-year college career, Simmons recorded 238 total tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four interceptions, 20 pass defenses, one fumble recovery, six forced fumbles, and scored one defensive touchdown.
