Cardinals Signing DT Jordan Phillips To Three-Year Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals are signing DT Jordan Phillips to a three-year contract on Tuesday.

There was some early speculation that Phillips could be a franchise tag candidate for the Bills, but Buffalo ultimately allowed him to test the open market.

The Cardinals have been trying to solidify their interior defensive line for a few years now and Phillips is clearly one of the best available options at this point.

Phillips, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2015. He was in the final year of his contract when the Dolphins waived him in 2018 and he was later claimed off waivers by the Bills.

Phillips re-signed in Buffalo in 2019 on a one-year, $4.5 million deal.

In 2019, Phillips appeared in all 16 games for the Bills, recording 31 total tackles, 9.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 103 defensive tackle out of 113 qualifying players.

We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
