Cardinals Signing LB Scooby Wright Off Of Browns Practice Squad

Mike Jurecki is hearing that the Cardinals are signing LB Scooby Wright off of the Browns’ practice squad after they sustained some injuries on defense and special teams.

Wright, 22, was taken with the No. 250 overall pick by the Browns this past May. He was in the first year of his four-year, $2.4 million contract and set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season when he was cut loose coming of the preseason.

The Browns quickly re-signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.

During his college career at Arizona, Wright recorded 270 tackles, 43.5 tackles for a loss, 17 sacks, an interception, five forced fumbles, a recovery and a pass defense.
