Chargers Activate 21-Day Practice Window For TE Hunter Henry (PUP)

The Los Angeles Chargers officiallyย activated the 21-day practice window for TE Hunter Henry (ACL) on Monday.

Henry remains on Physically Unable to Perform and does not count against the 53-man roster limit.

The Chargers have 21 days to either activate him or he wouldย miss the remainder of the season.

Reports have said for months now that there was still a chance Henry could return this year, despite suffering an ACL tear several months ago.

It will be interesting to see how he does upon returning to practice and whether the Chargers ultimately decide to add him to their roster or shut him down and focus on a 2019ย return.

Henry, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $6.38 million contract that included $3.98 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.03 million and $1.32 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Henry appeared in 14 games for the Chargers and caught 45 passes for 579 yards receiving and four touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 3 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Henry as the news is available.
