The San Diego Chargers announced Monday that they’ve claimed veteran CBย Robert McClain off of waivers from the Panthers.
McClain, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He spent a few years with the Falcons before returning to the Panthers back in December of last year. Carolina elected to waive him last week.
McClain stands to make a base salary of $760,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2016, McClain has appeared in 11 games for the Panthers and recorded 38 tackles, a half sack, no interceptions and a pass defense.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 115 cornerback out of 123 qualifying players.
