Chargers Sign Three Players To Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Chargers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed three players to their practice squad including TE Stephen Anderson, RB Derrick Gore, and C Cole Toner and released OT Tyree St. Louis from the unit. 

  • The Chargers also placed RB Detrez Newsome on the practice squad injured list. 

Here’s the Chargers updated practice squad:

  1. DE Anthony Lanier
  2. WR Artavis Scott (Injured)
  3. RB Detrez Newsome (Injured)
  4. OL Spencer Drango
  5. WR Anthony Johnson
  6. DB Tevaughn Campbell
  7. LB Jeff Holland
  8. DB Quenton Meeks
  9. DB Shalom Luani
  10. TE Stephen Anderson
  11. C Cole Toner
  12. RB Derrick Gore

Anderson, 26, wound up signing on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of California back in 2016. He was in the final year of his rookie contract when the Texans waived him coming out of the preseason.

The Patriots later signed Anderson to a contract last summer, but he was waived him coming out of the preseason. He’s been on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad since then. 

In 2017, Anderson appeared in 15 games for the Texans and caught 25 passes for 342 yards receiving and one touchdown.
