ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that former Rams WR Austin Pettis worked out for the Chargers on Wednesday.
This is the second to bring in Pettis for a workout this week, as the 49ers met with him on Tuesday.
The Rams waived Pettis a few months ago and has since worked out for the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers. However, he has yet to secure another opportunity.
The Chargers are dealing with some injuries such as Keenan Allen, who has already been ruled out for Week 17’s game.
Pettis, 26, is a former 2011 third-round pick of the Rams, but has been limited to playing just 34 percent of the team’s snaps in 2014. He has appeared in five games and caught 12 passes for 118 yards receiving and one touchdown while playing for the Rams this year.
