Chargers ILB Donald Butler said goodbye to fans on Twitter Thursday, implying that he’s been released from his contract.

Butler, 27, was entering the third year of his seven-year, $51.8 million contract thatย included an $11.15 million signing bonus. He was set to make a base salary ofย $4.65 million in 2016.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing will free up $2,590,000 in available cap space while creating $6,690,000 in dead money.
In 2015, Butler appeared inย all 16 games for the Chargers and recorded 43 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and a recovery.
